Motorcyclists

North Yorkshire has a beautiful landscape that is enjoyed by many bikers who live here and visit from across the country.

Riding is a demanding and complex task which requires concentration and skill. Road conditions change frequently, and you need be constantly alert for hazards especially on the winding rural roads we have.

We recognise that motorcyclists are frequently killed or seriously injured on our roads and we work hard to raise awareness of the importance of skills, wearing the correct safety gear and keeping motorcycles well-maintained.

There are many ways to improve your riding skills and as a partnership we support

BikeSafe this is a police led programme that is very popular in North Yorkshire, you can find out more here Biker Safe Leaflet

Biker Down is a free course run by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue FireBike team. More information and details on upcoming courses can be found here Motorcycles – North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service

You will find us at events around the county each year where you can speak to our highly trained police motorcyclists and FireBike riders.
